 As of November 2008, we are working on completing all the finishing work inlcuding the trim work and touch-up painting. As you know, we have been able to build this home without any loans or charges. We still need about $27,000 to finish the boy’s home. With that amount, we will be able to purchase a commercial stove, commercial sink, exhaust fan hood, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, two washers, and two dryers. This all will finish the boy’s home and we will be able to open up the doors. Please pray for these needs!

 As of early October, we are moving closer to being done. We have put in all the lights, cabinets, doors, toiletries, etc. We also poured the concrete for the drive-way and side walks and the flooring has been completed. Just a few more days of work left!!

 Solid Rock continues to get closer to being finished. The cabinets, tiling, the wood flooring upstairs, doors, etc. have all been installed. Finish work is now being done. Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church in Gray, GA. for coming and working. Thanks to Bro. Terry Schooley, a missionary for helping out also.

 On July 7th, we recieved the first boy into our boy's home.

He is staying with the Sledges until the building is finished.

 Work continues on at Solid Rock as we are working on the wood siding for the inside of the home. We are putting up pine, oak, poplar, and cherry thanks to Bro. Bobby Smith who donated it. Also, exterior doors have been installed and the brick work is completed. Thanks to all the work crews from Sulphur Springs Baptist Church in Newton, MS., Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Columbia, MS., North View Baptist Church in Brookhaven, LA., and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Little Rock, MS.

 As of May 1st, the sheet rock has been installed and completed. Brick work has begun and will be completed by mid May. Pastor Carl Adamson and a work crew from Northview Baptist Church from Brookhaven, MS. came and helped us with the wood siding upstairs. We thank them so much for their help and for taking their mission trip here with us.

 Progress is moving along fast. As of March 1. 2008 the doors have been installed, the upstairs section is being started and the shingles are being put on. Right now we are praying for monthly support! We need about $3,500.00 a month to keep the doors open. Please pray concerning this matter.

 On January 16, 2008 we received the lumber to start building. On January 24, 2008 the walls went up. On February 14, 2008 we started on the roof.

 We started out with a sign and a storage building. We had our ground breaking on October 28, 2006. On March 5. 2007 we started leveling the ground. On August 1, 2007 we poured the concrete.

Under the direction of Dr. Jack High and under the authority of Maranatha Baptist Church, we will be starting "Solid Rock Boy's Home." God burdened Dr. High about a boy's home and the Lord through a local businessman in Union, MS, donated 5 acres of land about 5 miles from our girl's home.
All of us are excited, because we can now help young boys with their life. We already receive many calls a week from people needing help. We are praying for the funds to be able to build the buildings. We need your help & support.
We are so grateful to the Lord. We hope to have all our construction completed and have the home running in the fall of 2007. Please pray about this matter. We have added one storage building on the property as shown above, but we have a long way to go.
In the above picture I am standing in the middle of the boy's home property with my grandson Jacob. As I think of Jacob, his life is before him, to grow up in a Christian home that his parents will raise him in. There are boys out there with no chance and we want to help them. We want to teach the young boys about Christ and his love and also teach them a trade and to be responsible young men. Please pray for the Lord to open more doors for us
